The Industry and Business Ecosystem Division (IBE) through the Weights and Measures Unit (SDT) under the Ministry of Finance and Economy recently conducted the verification, accuracy reading and stamping on 1,184 units of weighing machines from five supplier companies registered under the SDT for May.
The initiative was conducted by the SDT for companies selling 10 units or more, at their business premises or warehouse, or any premises buildings belonging to the companies.
The verification, accuracy reading and stamping is done to ensure weighing machines are valid, accurate and functioning properly before being displayed, marketed or sold to customers, in accordance with Weights and Measures Act 1983 Chapter 151 and Weights and Measures (Verification) Regulations 1994 Chapter 3 (1) and (2), requiring all weights and measures machines to be verified. – James Kon
