Thirteen students from Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam (Pusat Ehsan) in Belait District celebrated Hari Raya Aidilfitri with Belait District Scouts Association’s Baden Powell Guild (BP Guild) at the Kampong Pandan Library yesterday.
Pusat Ehsan member of the Board of Trustees Audrey Choo, was the guest of honour.
Chairman of BP Guild Beelie bin Tengah was also present along with BP Guild members, Pusat Ehsan staff and family members of the students.
“Today’s event marks one of the many activities conducted by BP Guild to help further strengthen the relationship between us and the surrounding community,” said Beelie, adding that the event also served to instil a sense of inclusiveness, while encouraging closer integration between the differently-abled students and the community.
Hari Raya themed performances led by the students enlivened the event.
Meanwhile, a donation of basic food necessities from BP Guild was handed over by the guest of honour.
BP Guild Deputy Chairman Haji Abdul Aziz bin Haji Abdul Ghani also presented certificates to event sponsors, which included Yun Hin Trading Sdn Bhd, Haji Yakob bin Tarudin, Syukri Sakinah Restaurant, Bui Quet Yee, and Kampong Pandan Library.
BP Guild said it looks to continue to conduct more charitable activities in the future.
