    A showcase of social responsibility

    Mitsubishi Corporation

    Mitsubishi Corporation, through its Liaison Office in Brunei, held its charity drive as part of its corporate social responsibility yesterday.

    Mitsubishi Corporation (Brunei Liaison Office) Country Representative Tadashi Hara led the drive, aimed to uplift underprivileged families in the local community.

    Mitsubishi Corporation presented donations to 10 underprivileged families in Kampong Batu Marang, Kampong Pintu Malim, Kampong Subok and Kampong Belimbing Subok identified by the Community Development Department (JAPEM).

    The charity drive also aimed to ease the financial burden of families ahead of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri festivities.

    “Through this initiative, the act of kindness would inspire others to support those facing adversity. By fostering closer ties with the community, Mitsubishi Corporation hopes to alleviate the burdens of the less fortunate while raising awareness about the importance of collective action in times of need,” said Hara. – Fadley Faisal

    Teeyem Majeed Group of Companies

    Teeyem Majeed (TM) Group of Companies founder Al Haji TM Badurudeen handed over zakat to the less fortunate yesterday as part of its corporate social responsibility.

    Eighty residents of Kampong Jangsak and Kampong Kilanas received basic food necessities each worth BND65.

    TM Majeed Supermarket’s General Manager Mohd Ferose Khan and the senior management team, as well as Kampong Kilanas village head Haji Mohamed Ameerolbahrynee bin Haji Abdul Hamid, were also present. The annual charity drive, held for the 16th time, aims to lessen the burden of the less fortunate and the orphans ahead of the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration.

    Meanwhile, another 80 underprivileged individuals will receive donations at Orbit Supermarket Sdn Bhd in Kampong Salambigar today. – Rokiah Mahmud

    Boostline Brunei

    Boostline Brunei, a group of car enthusiasts, handed over donations to the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD) personnel recently.

    Ching led the charity event that saw the handover of dry food and drinks.

    “Despite the fasting month, the firefighters have been battling fires across the country, risking their lives to keep the communities safe,” Ching said.

    The donations were presented to the FRD at multiple branches, including those in Kampong Sungai Liang in Belait District; Kampong Bukit Beruang in Tutong District; and Kampong Rimba in Brunei-Muara District.

    The donations were tokens of appreciation for the firefighters in keeping the people safe under challenging conditions.

    Niagamas Insurance Services

    The Niagamas Insurance Services held its fourth charity drive recently, handing donations to 10 needy families at the Kampong Sengkurong Community Hall recently.

    Niagamas Insurance Services Sdn Bhd managing director Nazim Kamal was on hand to present the donations.

    The donation drive is part of Niagamas’ annual corporate social responsibility aimed at giving back to the community. – Rokiah Mahmud
