The works of a number of international artists are being showcased at the Alliance Francaise premises in Jalan Tungku as part of the organisation’s efforts to promote art and culture.

The exhibition, launched yesterday, will end on May 31. The exhibition showcase includes work from German national Irina Maier, Indian national Dr Rani Sullochana, Russian-Austrian national Lyubov Shibanova, and Ukrainian Ludmilla Oehler.

It also includes works from 12-year-old Bruneian Adella Han.

The works are based on their common creative journey in Brunei and inspired by the natural beauty and diversity of Borneo and personal, human experiences.

“The exhibition is a testament to Alliance Francaise’s commitment to promoting culture and arts beyond the French culture,” said Alliance Francaise de Brunei Darussalam President Pehin Orang Kaya Pekerma Laila Diraja Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Hazair bin Haji Abdullah.

Alliance Francaise Director Elodie Simon Hicks said the event highlights the organisation’s commitment to bringing France, Brunei and beyond a common goal; the promotion of intercultural relations and the building of networks.

French Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Bernard Regnauld Fabre was also present.
