A preacher should be ready to render services when needed by the community and preaching should not be limited to certain groups.
As a government agency, Islamic Da’wah Centre (PDI), should meet the needs of the community by increasing preaching efforts in both urban and rural areas.
This was said by PDI Director Haji Abdul Rajid bin Haji Mohd Salleh during the closing ceremony for a Syahadah workshop yesterday.
The event, which saw 50 PDI officers receive their certificates, began with the recitation of Sayyidul Istighfar, Surah Al-Fatihah and Doa Selamat led by Pengiran Aziman bin Pengiran Rakawi followed by a speech from the representative of the participants Head of Temburong District Dakwah Unit Haji Hazimin bin Haji Metali.
The workshop, held for the first time, was aimed at helping them to understand Syahadah better and improve conversion ceremonies.
The workshop’s facilitators were lecturers from the Religious Teachers University College of Seri Begawan, officers from the State Mufti’s Office, Brunei Islamic Religious Council and Ministry of Religious Affairs’ Syar’ie Prosecuting Division.
