In the past two years, the Ministry of Health (MoH) has not only become the frontline in curbing COVID-19, but also the forefront in exercising transparency during the dissemination of information at press conferences.
This was said by Legislative Council (LegCo) member Yang Berhormat Khairunnisa binti Haji Ash’ari, who led the delegation of 19 LegCo members at the Muzakarah session between the MoH and LegCo members at Al-’Afiah Hall, MoH yesterday.
Prior to the session, the attendees were screened for COVID-19 with the antigen rapid test (ART) kit.
The event began with opening remarks from Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar.
Yang Berhormat Khairunnisa, in her speech as representative of the LegCo members, paid tribute to the MoH’s continuous efforts in ensuring the health and safety of the populace during the COVID-19 outbreak.
She added that the ministry has always ensured that other health-related services are not overlooked, such as treatments for mental health, cancer and non-communicable diseases (NCD).
Permanent Secretary at the MoH Haji Maswadi bin Haji Mohsin, Deputy Permanent Secretary (Professional) at the MoH Dr Ang Swee Hui, Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Management and Policy) at the MoH Dr Hajah Anie Haryani binti Haji Abdul Rahman, and Acting Director General of Medical and Health Services at the MoH Pengiran Dr Haji Md Khalifah bin Pengiran Haji Ismail were also present, along with other senior officials.
