Recipients of state decorations expressed their gratitude to His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s recognition of their contributions yesterday, pledging to continue serving the nation to the best of their abilities.
Deputy Minister (Energy) at the Prime Minister’s Office Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohamad Azmi bin Haji Mohd Hanifah who was conferred The Most Honourable Order of Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei 1st Class (SPMB) hopes to use nearly 30-years of experience in the oil-and-gas industry to further contribute in the downstream sector.
Attorney General Datin Seri Paduka Hajah Nor Hashimah binti Haji Mohammed Taib, also conferred the SPMB, said it was an honour to be recognised for her efforts and hard work. She expressed her gratitude to Allah the Almighty for His blessings and thanked His Majesty for acknowledging her achievements.
Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali Rector Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Norarfan bin Haji Zainal, also expressed his gratitude to Allah the Almighty and to His Majesty for the conferment of The Most Eminent Order of Islam Brunei 2nd Class (DSSUB), which carries the title ‘Dato Seri Setia’.
He stated that the recognition would enforce his motivation and determination to support His Majesty’s leadership and aspirations to enhance the quality of Islamic studies in higher learning institutions, in line with Brunei Vision 2035.
Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman, who was among the six recipients to receive The Most Honourable Order of Seri Paduka Mahkota Brunei 3rd Class (SMB), said the state decoration further ignited his motivation to serve the nation as a public servant. – Rokiah Mahmud
