SEOUL (ANN/THE KOREA HERALD) – K-pop sensation Riize has upped the ante with their latest venture into the music scene, unveiling their highly anticipated first mini album titled “Riizing” on Monday. The group, known for pioneering their unique genre termed “emotional pop,” aims to captivate audiences with a blend of punk rock and pop, coupled with emotionally resonant lyrics.

Speaking at a press conference in Seoul to commemorate the album’s launch, Sungchan expressed, “Our first mini album features eight tracks that embody the essence of emotional pop. The album’s title reflects our determination to continually progress and evolve.”

The album’s centrepiece, “Boom Boom Bass,” serves as the lead track, characterised by a funky disco vibe accentuated by vibrant bass lines. Wonbin elaborated, “The song captures the youthful thrill and sense of liberation through dynamic bass guitar performances.”

Highlighting the group’s cohesion and synergy, Sohee shared, “We aimed to showcase our chemistry in ‘Boom Boom Bass,’ including a ‘pair rap’ segment by Shotaro and Sungchan. We approached the recording with enthusiasm, infusing the song with our positive energy.”

Eunseok emphasised, “With this album, we want to demonstrate our growth both vocally and performance-wise. Our goal is to keep ascending and show our artistic development since our debut with ‘Get A Guitar.’”

Riize made waves last September with their debut single album “Get A Guitar,” which surpassed a million copies in sales, a remarkable achievement for a rookie K-pop group. Currently, the six-member ensemble is embarking on their global fan concert tour, “Riizing Day,” spanning nine cities worldwide including Los Angeles, Tokyo, and Bangkok.

Anton expressed gratitude, stating, “We’re thrilled to conclude our fan concert tour at the prestigious KSPO Dome in September. After performing as guest artists at IU’s concert earlier this year, holding our own concert there feels surreal. We’re eagerly anticipating the event.”

Riize continues to cement their presence in the K-pop scene with their distinctive sound and unwavering commitment to artistic growth, promising fans an unforgettable musical journey with “Riizing.”
