A Hawaii-themed vibrant family gathering was recently held at the residence of Nordiana binti Siew filled with fun, laughter and friendly competition. This memorable event aimed to strengthen family bonds and foster teamwork among participants while celebrating the start of the new year.
Families arrived in their best Hawaiian-inspired outfits, showcasing their team spirit in vivid colours. The day began with an opening ceremony featuring a Doa recitation, an introduction to the event programme and rules, an energising warm-up session and spirited cheer presentations from each family to kickstart the event.
A heartfelt moment during the event was a special birthday surprise for a great-grandfather of the family. Surrounded by love and appreciation, he expressed his gratitude and joy at witnessing the togetherness displayed throughout the event. In his speech, he shared, “This event is a beautiful celebration of family. I am deeply touched and hope to see this tradition continue in the future if I have the opportunity again.” His words resonated deeply, underscoring the importance of family unity and cherishing time spent together.
The gathering featured an exciting lineup of 11 games, including crowd favourites such as ‘balloon train’, nafas ikan and biji kacang. Three children’s games ensured that the younger participants, aged one to eight, had their own share of fun and achievements.
The day’s competitive spirit reached its peak with the crowning of the overall champion, earned by the vibrant and determined ALOHA BN Family. Their outstanding teamwork and enthusiasm across all games set them apart.
