A boost for tourism

Travel agencies in Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand are interested in promoting Brunei as a travel destination, said the general manager of a local travel agency after attending the 4th Kuala Lumpur Travel Mart.

“We have received overwhelming response from the travel agencies visiting the Brunei booth,” said Straits Central Agencies (B) Sdn Bhd (SCA) General Manager Nur Khadijah binti Abdullah, adding that she had more than 100 buyers interested in their inbound services.

SCA represented Brunei Darussalam – one of the 34 countries in KLTM 2022 – and was supported by the Brunei Tourism Development Department with promotional and marketing materials, which included presentation slides, brochures of the four districts and some
promotional giveaways.

Nur Khadijah said the opportunity provided exposure to SCA as an inbound travel agency that handles domestic tourism, adding that they plan to do more roadshows to ASEAN countries to promote Brunei as a destination.
