TheHealthyHero
Brunei Programme
The Healthy Hero Brunei Programme is
among the initiatives that seek topromote
a healthy lifestyle through learning
methods and a hands-on approach to
practising healthy habits in everyday life.
The activities included in the
programme are both physical and
mentally challenging – Race to Health,
Charades and the Master Chef Junior
competition.
The programme aims to educate youth
and local communities by providing
more information on health and instilling
awareness on healthy lifestyle practices.
TheWorkplaceand
Health (WAH!) Programme
The WAH! Programme is a joint
collaboration between the MoH, through
the HPC and the Gleneagles JPMC
Sdn Bhd, following a Memorandum of
Understanding last April.
The goal of WAH! Is to encourage
workplaces to provide a supportive
environment and initiate actions that
enable employees to be more active, eat
healthily, give up smoking and develop a
good mental state.
The programme also aims to be the
driving force for workplace healthy
lifestyle programmes or workplace health
promotion programmes in all government
ministries by 2021.
TheHappyEnvironment
andLifestyle (HEAL) Programme
The objective of the HEAL Programme,
meanwhile, is to support physical activity
interventions in community settings
through building, strengthening and
maintaining social networks that create
opportunities for physical activities.
The programme aims to enhance
awareness and knowledge on the various
health benefits of regular physical activity
and discourage sedentary behaviours
within community settings.
It also seeks to engage and form
partnerships with the community, schools,
private businesses and health centres, as
wellassportsandrecreationalstakeholders,
in encouraging people to participate in
culturally appropriate physical activities.
Throughvarioushealthcareprogrammes,
Brunei Darussalam continues to strive
towards strengtheningbasichealthcare and
accomplishinguniversalhealthcoverage,so
that quality and comprehensive healthcare
and services can be available to all citizens
and residents in the country.
