(ANN/THE STAR) – Malaysian actress Nora Danish has openly discussed the challenges facing her seven-year marriage to businessman Mohamad Nedim Nazri.
Speaking with mStar, The Star’s Malay-language news outlet, the 42-year-old actress confirmed that she and Nedim have been living apart for the past three months.
Despite the separation, Nora emphasised their daily interactions, underscoring a mutual effort to maintain a semblance of normalcy.
“Seven years of marriage, there’s definitely some turbulence but we’re trying to handle it as well as we can,” she said on Monday (April 29).
While Nora admitted that it’s “better” for them to live separately for now, she reiterated that she still meets up with Nedim daily.
The singer-actress also made it clear that there was no third party involved. Instead, the strain was a result of conflicting opinions.
“No marriage is without its problems. Divorce is the last resort. I only hope for the best for the both of us and our children,” she said.
Nora was also quick to dispel rumours of any external involvement in their marital issues, attributing the strain instead to differences in opinion.
She expressed a firm stance against divorce, considering it a last resort.
Speculation about their marital instability gained traction after the couple did not post any photographs together during the recent Hari Raya celebrations.
Nora and Nedim, who were married in March 2017, share a six-year-old son. Nora also has a 15-year-old son from her previous marriage to Datuk Rizal Ashram Ramli, which ended in 2008.
