Ninety-five orphans received donations from the Welfare Body of Police’s Wives and Families (PEKERTI) of the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF) at the Officers’ Mess of the police headquarters in Gadong yesterday.
PEKERTI President Pengiran Datin Hajah Zauyah binti Pengiran Haji Sulaiman handed over the donation to children of RBPF personnel that have passed away, ahead of the new school term next month.
Also present were PEKERTI’s Chairperson Datin Sabrina Aziemah binti Abdullah Chong and executive member Rokiah binti Joly @ Julai, as well as female police personnel and wives of police personnel.
The PEKERTI Orphan Fund was established in 2007 to receive donation from RBPF personnel, individuals and the public with an aim of extending financial assistance to orphans, especially those whose RBPF personnel parents have passed away as a show of gratitude for the late personnel’s contribution to the police force. – James Kon
