936 new cases of COVID-19 detected

Brunei Darussalam yesterday recorded 936 new COVID-19 cases, comprising 919 local and 17 imported cases, said the Ministry of Health in a statement yesterday.

This brings the national tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 22,515. The new cases were detected through 7,212 laboratory tests carried out in the last 24 hours.

According to the statement, 345 cases have recovered, bringing the total recoveries to 17,236. The bed occupancy rate at isolation centres nationwide is 22.7 per cent.

No COVID-19 related deaths have been reported. Out of 5,177 active cases, two Category 4 cases require oxygen assistance and are under close observation.

As of February 12, 94.9 per cent of the populace had received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 94.1 per cent two doses, and 46 per cent had received booster shots.
