Nearly 500 students and teachers in the Belait District were recognised for their achievements during the Brunei LNG Sdn Bhd (Brunei LNG) Academic Excellence Awards at Pusat Insani, Seria on Wednesday.
The award ceremony covered the period between 2021 to 2024, and is part of the company’s social investment initiative.
Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education Dr Shamsiah Zuraini Kanchanawati binti Haji Tajuddin, the guest of honour for the morning session, presented 348 students with awards for excellent results for the Primary School Assessment (PSR), Religious Primary Schools Education Certificate (SSSRU), GCE O Levels and A Levels.
Acting Deputy Permanent Secretary (Administration And Finance) at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Misle bin Haji Abdul Karim, the guest of honour for the afternoon session, presented top performing students from Year 1 to Year 5, as well as outstanding teachers and schools in the district with awards.
Since 2003, Brunei LNG has hosted these annual awards celebrating the outstanding results and dedication of students and educators in the community, aiming to inspire ongoing academic excellence and promote lifelong learning. – Daniel Lim
