Eighty-five students from the Student Representative Council of the Universiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA) participated in an informed society programme recently.
Participants were briefed by government agencies during the two-day programme which began on Monday.
Among the topics covered was ‘Empowering Leadership’ from the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF), delivered by Training Officer at Officer Cadet School at the RBAF Captain Umar Abdul Aziz bin Haji Yahya and Recruitment Office’s Career Advisor/Public Relations Officer at Defence Academy RBAF Major Pengiran Siti Aishah Norpemar binti Pengiran Haji Abu Bakar.
The participants also had the opportunity to watch a video presentation of the activities of the Defence Academy RBAF before participating in group teamwork activities.
The programme ended with a visit to Bank Islam Brunei Darussalam (BIBD) at the Brunei Malay Teachers Association (PGGMB) building where the students were briefed on the bank’s role as a development partner, delivered by its head of government relations and special projects Haji Mohammad Yusri bin Haji Wahsalfelah. – Azlan Othman
