Eighty-five pints of blood were collected during a donation drive organised by the Brunei Darussalam Hokkien Association recently.

Ambassador of China to Brunei Darussalam Yu Hong was present, along with the association’s president Lim Han Chiong.

Chief of the Brunei Darussalam Hokkien Association Youth Division Chua Teng Kiat shared that the association had been actively carrying out blood donation drives for years. However, it came to a halt due to measures to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.

“We usually carried out blood donation drives at least four times a year, but the outbreak slowed down our charity activities. With restrictions loosening up, we hope to be able to continue our regular blood donation drives,” he said.

The campaign’s objectives are to save lives and answer the call from Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital’s Blood Donation Centre to replenish the supply at the blood bank.
