Some 81 officers and staff of Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE) took part in a three-day fire marshal course at Bandar Seri Begawan Fire Station recently.
The course was organised by the Public Relations Division of Operation ‘A’ Branch at the Fire and Rescue Department (FRD).
The participants learnt the importance of fire prevention and safety through theory and practical lessons.
The course also touched on the causes of fire, understanding the appropriate course of action and systematic evacuation during a fire.
They also learnt the proper use of fire extinguishers and fire blankets as well as tools used in fire and rescue operations, along with a fire drill at the fire station.
