76 participate in leadership forum

Some 76 participants attended the 8th Edition of the Leadership Circle: ‘Team Management and Leadership’ with Head of the Manpower Planning and Employment Council (MPEC) Secretariat at the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) Dr Hajah Siti Haziah binti Pehin Orang Kaya Saiful Mulok Dato Seri Paduka Haji Abidin, organised by the Young Professionals Network (YPN) Brunei.

The event was part of the organisation’s initiative called the Leadership Circle that serves as a platform to convene thought leaders, individuals in leadership roles and those in managerial positions across the board to discuss insights, frustrations and best practices in leadership. The initiative also helped them to develop stronger leadership skills through constructive virtual discussions.

The session was aimed at understanding the importance of self-awareness and how professionals have an impact on others; to learn how to communicate effectively including skills for difficult conversations; and to identify common traits of successful team leaders.
Co-founder of YPN Brunei Fatin Arifin said, “The YPN is a community platform that aims to promote and empower our young people through networking, dialogue, mentorship and advocacy.

“We aspire to challenge our young people to be courageous to participate and come forward to lead development and through the Leadership Circle, we want to support our youth to equip themselves with the right mindset and skills by understanding the responsibilities of leadership.”
