754 candidates qualify for Arabic schools

The Examination Division of the Islamic Studies Department as the Secretariat of Brunei Religious Education Examination Board released the results of entrance exam to Arabic schools.

Some 2,386 candidates sat for the exam last year, out of whom 754 candidates (or 31.6 per cent) have passed and will pursue their Year 5 education at Arabic schools for this year’s intake.

This showed an increase of 0.14 per cent compared to 2020.

Some 367 (31.23 per cent) were male candidates and 387 (31.96 per cent) students were female.

Religious school principals can obtain exam results today at the Examination Division Office of the Islamic Studies Department on the ground floor of the Ministry of Religious Affairs building from 3pm.

Parents and guardians of candidates can contact respective religious schools to obtain the results.

Parents and guardians of the candidates who have passed the exams can obtain the registration and entry forms for Arabic Schools – Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Arabic School for male candidates and Bandar Seri Begawan Arabic Preparatory School (Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Damit Girls Arabic Religious Secondary School building) for female candidates – for those residing in the Brunei-Muara District.

Male and female candidates residing in Tutong, can get the form at Mahad Islam Brunei, while for male and female candidates residing in the Belait District, the form can be obtained at the Belait Arabic School.

Candidates in Temburong can get the form at Temburong Arabic Preparatory School.

Registration starts from January 17, 8am to noon and 2pm-4pm.

The deadline to submit the form is on January 25. Meanwhile, parents and guardians from Al-Falaah School are reminded to obtain the registration and entry form to Arabic schools at Al-Falaah School in Sungai Akar from January 17 and to return it to the school no later than  January 25.
