Some 75 students from Religious Schools (Zone IV) with vision problems received eyeglasses, in conjunction with World Sight Day, during a ceremony at Pengiran Anak Puteri Amal Umi Kalthum Al-Islam Religious School in Kampong Mulaut on Saturday.
Perfect Vision Brunei Board of Directors Pengiran Matusin bin Pengiran Anak Haji Abdul Rahman, the guest of honour, presented the donation.
Its managing director II Dr Faris bin Abdul Rahman and officials from the Islamic Studies Department were also in attendance.
The donation was an initiative to help students to learn better and raise awareness on the importance of eye care and vision among the communities.
The donation was the third charity project of the company for religious school students in the country.
The recipients had undergone free eye examination at the company’s premises prior to Saturday’s ceremony.
The World Sight Day, themed ‘Love Your Eyes’, is a global effort to raise awareness on eye problems, especially those that can damage the eye wholly.
