With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, 74 officers of the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) were promoted yesterday. Seven officers were promoted from Acting Major/Lieutenant Commander (RBN) to Sub Major/Lieutenant Commander (RBN) and 26 officers were promoted from Sub Captain/Lieutenant (RBN) to Sub Major/Lieutenant Commander (RBN).
Meanwhile, three officers were promoted from Sub Captain to Acting Major and eight officers were promoted from Acting Captain/Lieutenant (RBN) to Sub Captain/Lieutenant (RBN).
Another 26 officers were promoted from Lieutenant/Lieutenant Junior Grade (RBN) to Sub Captain/Lieutenant (RBN), two officers from Sub Lieutenant to Sub Captain (Special Commission) and two promoted from Lieutenant Junior Grade (RBN) to Acting Lieutenant (RBN).
RBAF Commander Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan presented the insignia at the Officers’ Mess, Berakas Garrison.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof, acting permanent secretary, service commanders, deputy permanent secretaries, directors and senior officers of the Ministry of Defence and RBAF as well as family members of the promoted officers were present.
The ceremony concluded with a Doa Selamat by Director of RBAF Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT) Commander Haji Ainolnizam bin Haji Ibrahim, RBN. – James Kon
