A blood donation campaign collected 72 pints yesterday.
The campaign, organised by Makan Ceria Sdn Bhd, was the latest in their corporate social responsibility initiative.
The company’s blood donation drives have collected 371 pints this year.
One of the donors, Khalidi bin Haji Masri, 61, said that it was the second time for him donating his blood, with the first time several months ago during a donation drive at OneCity Shopping Centre.
He said he was initially unsure if he was able to become a donor as he had health issues.
However, after seeking advice and performing a health check, he was told that he could donate blood, and he used the opportunity to help the community.
Meanwhile, McDonald’s Brunei senior business development lead Syafiq Metassan said it was his third time donating blood. He brought his children along, where they had fun at the restaurant’s playground while he made his contribution. – Rokiah Mahmud
