The second day of the Investiture Ceremony continued with a total of 667 recipients receiving the Pingat Indah Kerja Baik (P.I.K.B.) at the Balai Singgahsana Indera Kenchana, Istana Nurul Iman on Thursday.
The State Honorary Medals were conferred by His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, in honour of His Majesty’s 78th birthday celebration.
His Royal Highness Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah ibni His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah, the Crown Prince and Senior Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office presented the medals as representative of His Majesty.
Also in attendance were His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Malik and His Royal Highness Prince ‘Abdul Mateen.
The 667 recipients were made up of 257 males and 410 females out of which 182 recipients were from the Ministry of Religious Affairs, 112 recipients from the Ministry of Health, 96 recipients from Ministry of Home Affairs, 55 recipients from the Ministry of Development and 157 recipients from the Ministry of Education.
Twenty-six recipients were from the Ministry of Transportation and Info-communication and 23 recipients from the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports while the remaining are from the private sector.
The ceremony concluded with A Doa Selamat read by Pehin Orang Kaya Paduka Seri Utama Dato Paduka Seri Setia Haji Awang Salim bin Haji Besar.
Also in attendance were Pengiran Pengiran Cheterias, Cabinet Ministers, members of the Privy Council, deputy ministers, diplomats, permanent secretaries, deputy permanent secretaries, and heads of departments. – LYNA MOHAMMAD
