The Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Scheme Briefing and Awarding Ceremony took place at Laksamana College of Business (LCB) yesterday.
Some 66 students from The Culinary School by LCB were accepted into Brunei’s first TVET Scheme, pursuing the City & Guilds, London programme in Level 2 Diplomas in Food Preparation and Culinary Arts, Patisserie, and Food and Beverage Service, as well as the Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Culinary Arts & Supervision.
They received a briefing from Ministry of Education (MoE) representative Azeez covering scheme requirements, rules and regulations, and a question and answer session.
Acting Head of Scholarship Management Rosimah Sumaimah binti Haji Matassim presented the awarding letters.
The scheme is offered by the government of programmes geared towards employment while improving qualifications and skills of the local population.
The collaborative effort between the MoE and the Manpower Planning and Employment Council (MPEC) focusses on preparing locals for employment in the culinary field.
