64 imported COVID cases detected from Jan 11-17

Out of 224 COVID-19 cases detected in the Sultanate from January 11 to 17, 64 were imported cases.

The number of imported cases was highlighted by Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar in a press conference yesterday.

From a graph presented during the press conference, 20 of the imported cases were from India while 11 from Nepal. Eight imported cases were from the United Kingdom (UK) and another eight from the Philippines, three from the United States (US), three from Australia and two from France.

Egypt, the Netherlands, Laos, Angola, Turkey, Pakistan, Brazil , Malaysia and Morocco contributed one imported case each.
