Some 40 officers and staff members from Mahkota Maju Sdn Bhd (MMSB) collected around 60 kilogrammes of garbage at Sungai Liang Recreational Park on Friday as part of the company’s corporate social responsibility programme.

The company’s Employee Healthy Lifestyle Programme, aimed to create a positive impact while giving back to the community, said the company’s Training Director Haji Ibrahim bin Haji Mahmud.

Meanwhile, Human Resource Manager Diyanah Izzati reminded everyone to continue to be mindful of their daily choices and hope that their actions will inspire them to carry out similar programs to care for the surrounding community and environment.

The participants split into three groups to collect trash across the park, with the group that collected the most trash received a prize.

The programme also coincides with World Cleanup Day which is observed annually on September 20, which invites agencies and groups globally to contribute to long-lasting societal change in behaviour around mismanaged waste. – Daniel Lim
