60 saplings planted to mark school’s 60th anniversary

The International School Brunei (ISB) yesterday launched a sapling planting initiative at its Bandar campus titled ‘60 Trees to Celebrate 60 Years’.

The tree planting was held in conjunction with the school’s 60th anniversary, marking six decades of inclusive academic excellence.

Organised by ISB in collaboration with the Brunei Climate Change Secretariat, the initiative saw 60 saplings planted across ISB’s Bandar and Seria campuses, as well as ISB’s Centre for Inclusive Learning (CIL) in Panaga.

The endeavour aligns with Strategy 2 of the Brunei Darussalam National Climate Change Policy aiming to plant 500,000 trees to enhance the country’s forest cover by 2035.

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Core Education) at the Ministry of Education Aliuddin bin Haji Abdul Rahman was the guest of honour.

ISB’s Board of Directors Chairman Dato Seri Paduka Haji Ahmad bin Pehin Orang Kaya Laila Setia Bakti Di-Raja Dato Laila Utama Haji Awang Isa, Deputy Chairman Nicholas King, Haji Rashid Abdul Razak, Roy David Kurian, Sharon Tan, Jorge Francisco Vega, Permanent Secretary (Community) at the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports Hajah Nor Ashikin binti Haji Johari and Wong Chin Toon were also present.
