A total of 57 Ministry of Defence (MinDef) civilian officers and staff received Long Service Medals (PKL) for 2023 yesterday in conjunction with His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam’s 77th birthday celebration at the MinDef Tower Block in Bolkiah Garrison.
Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Defence II Pehin Datu Lailaraja Major General (Rtd) Dato Paduka Seri Haji Awang Halbi bin Haji Mohd Yussof presented the medals.
The PKL serves as a recognition from His Majesty’s Government for the dedication and excellent services of officers and staff of more than 20 years of service.
The ceremony concluded with the recitation of Doa Selamat by Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) Religious Directorate (JAMA’AT) Acting Director Lieutenant Colonel Ariffin bin Amit @ Hamid.
RBAF Commander Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan and Permanent Secretary at the MinDef Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Alirupendi bin Haji Perudin were also present. – James Kon
