With the consent of His Majesty Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu’izzaddin Waddaulah ibni Al-Marhum Sultan Haji Omar ‘Ali Saifuddien Sa’adul Khairi Waddien, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam, 54 Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) officers were promoted during a ceremony at the Officers’ Mess, Berakas Garrison yesterday.
Commander of the RBAF Major General Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan presented the new insignias to the officers.
The newly promoted officers comprised four senior officers to colonel, three officers to substantive lieutenant colonel; 11 officers to substantive major or lieutenant commander (RBN); one officer to acting major; 29 officers to substantive captain or lieutenant (RBN); and six officers to acting captain or lieutenant (RBN).
Deputy Minister of Defence Brigadier General (Rtd) Dato Seri Pahlawan Haji Abdul Razak bin Haji Abdul Kadir, service commanders, joint force commander, deputy permanent secretaries, commandants and officers of the Ministry of Defence and the RBAF, as well as family members of the promoted officers also attended.
