53 join Information Dept programme

Fifty-three Universiti Brunei Darussalam Student Association (PMUBD) members and Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD) alumni participated in the Informed Society Programme (PMB) at the Information Department building at the Old Airport recently.

Participants were given briefings from government agencies during the two-day programme which began on Wednesday.

Topics included ‘The roles and responsibilities of the people of Brunei’ from the Information Department; ‘Cyber crime prevention and protection measures’ from Cyber Security Brunei; ‘The role of Manpower Planning and Employment Council in dealing with unemployment issues’ from JobCentre Brunei.

Other topics included ‘Understanding deviant teachings and ways to overcome’ from the Religious Enforcement Division of the Ministry of Religious Affairs; ‘Anti-corruption awareness’ from the Anti-Corruption Bureau; and visits to Brunei Innovation Lab in Kampong Anggerek Desa, Lantera Makmur Gallery at the Information Department and Brunei Food Industry Development (BFID), Salambigar Industrial Park. – Azlan Othman
