52 research assistants complete training

Fifty-two research assistants yesterday completed a training designed to equip them with the knowledge and skills to carry out fieldwork for the 3rd National Health and Nutritional Status Survey (NHANSS3) Multiple Indicator Cluster Surveys (MICS).

A closing ceremony was held at Pengiran Anak Puteri Rashidah Sa’adatul Bolkiah Institute of Health Sciences (PAPRSB IHS) of Universiti Brunei Darussalam (UBD).

Director of the Centre for Advanced Research (CARe) Dr Siti Mazidah Haji Mohamad said the training involved 29 facilitators from CARe, PAPRSB IHS, Health Promotion Centre (HPC) and health centres under the Ministry of Health (MoH), trained by UNICEF experts as well as invited speakers from government agencies.

Globally, MICS is one of the largest international household survey programmes that collect data on children, women, men and household where to date, six rounds of MICS and 350 surveys have been conducted, covering 118 countries. – Lyna Mohamad
