A blood donation drive organised by Qudoz Event Management in collaboration with the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital Blood Donation Centre at the Atrium of The Mall, Gadong collected 52 pints of blood yesterday.

The campaign was carried out as an awareness activity in conjunction with the Day of Action (DOA) under the Department of Youth and Sports.

Qudoz Event Management President and founder Dayangku Noorbaizura binti Pengiran Haji Daud said the campaign’s objective was to reach out to the community.

“Donating blood is important in saving lives, and a pint of blood can save three lives. This is why we make it part of our awareness campaign. This month, our campaign is held in conjunction with the DOA, under the initiative of the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS),” she said.

Yesterday’s campaign marked the third year Qudoz Event Management has conducted the blood donation drive at The Mall.

The event saw Rizqun International Hotel’s Chef Nova leading his kitchen staff to bleeding for a good cause. “Blood donation is beneficial – not only does it help people, but it also benefits the donor’s health,” he said.

Chef Nova said he makes it a point to donate once in three months, adding that he was happy to learn that a blood donation campaign was being held near his workplace.

The organiser will hold another blood donation drive tomorrow from 10am to 2pm at the same venue.

The blood drive at The Mall, Gadong recorded an encouraging response yesterday, collecting 52 pints to help replenish the dwindling national blood reserves. Eager donors ranged from first-timers to seasoned ones, with some even making the trip from other districts. Among the mix was Rizqun International Hotel Chef Nova, who, without fail, rolls his sleeves up for the good cause once every three months.
