441 new COVID-19 cases reported

Four hundred and forty local and one import case of COVID-19 infections were reported yesterday, raising the total number of active cases in the country to 2,453 said Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar during a press conference yesterday.

This brings the national tally of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 18,845.

The minister said 61 cases have recovered, while the bed occupancy rate at isolation centres nationwide is 32.6 per cent.

There are four cases in Category 4 (requiring oxygen assistance and under close monitoring) receiving treatment at the National Isolation Centre.

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health (MoH) is monitoring 60 active clusters. No new clusters involving business premises or public places have been detected.

The minister said as of Tuesday, the National COVID-19 Vaccination Programme has delivered two doses to more than 94 per cent of the overall rate of the population, while the rate for those who have received three doses is 43.6 per cent.

No violations of the movement restriction directive was recorded yesterday.

Minister of Home Affairs Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Kerna Dato Seri Setia (Dr) Haji Awang Abu Bakar bin Haji Apong was also present in the press conference.
