A total of 410 kilogrammes of waste was collected during a national coastal cleaning campaign, ‘Coastal Marvel’, organised by the Ministry of Health at Seri Kenangan Beach in the Tutong District yesterday.
Minister of Health Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Mohd Isham bin Haji Jaafar was among the attendees.
The campaign began with the recitation of Surah Al-Fatihah by religious teacher Abdul Yazid bin Haji Rosli Aziz followed by a group photo session.
The objectives of the campaign were to gather baseline data on marine debris along the coast, identifying types of marine debris and instil a sense of responsibility in protecting and preserving the environment through proper waste disposal. – Adib Noor
