Forty-one participants received certificates upon completing the basic effective neighbourhood watch course during a closing ceremony at the Berakas Police Station’s multipurpose hall.
The course, organised by the Royal Brunei Police Force (RBPF), was participated by village heads, staff from the public and private sector who registered as members of the neighbourhood watch programme in the Brunei-Muara District.
The RBPF Public Relation Unit, as the secretariat of neighbourhood watch programme, was the course coordinator.
Acting Commanding Officer of Brunei-Muara Police District Superintendent Haji Muhd Shaker bin Haji Nayan, the guest of honour, presented the certificates.
The participants were briefed by officials from departments under RBPF, the Attorney General’s Chamber, the Syariah Department and the Ministry of Home Affairs. The course’s objective is to increase knowledge on law enforcement as neighbourhood watch members and foster ties among RBPF and the community. – James Kon
