Some 40 trainers received certification for the emergency aid in community programme during a ceremony organised by the Brunei Darussalam Red Crescent Society (BRC) at the CAE Brunei Multi-Purpose Training Centre, Kampong Rimba.
The programme, widely-recognised by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), is a project under BRC to play a role as auxiliary to the government to provide lifesaving skills and competency as well as public safety.
Deputy Director of National Disaster Management Centre at the Ministry of Home Affairs Ruhaidah binti Haji Rusli presented certificates to the participants.
The newly-certified trainers will be tasked to train up to 1,000 youth across the country on basic first aid and life saving skills. – James Kon
