Forty people participated in a blood donation campaign, jointly organised by the High Commission of India in Brunei Daurssalam and Indian Association Belait (IAB) at the IAB hall in Seria yesterday from 9am until 2pm.
The campaign was held in conjunction with the 38th National Day of Brunei Darussalam and as part of the ongoing celebrations of India@75 Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
In spite of the third wave of Covid 19, the event saw the participation from both local and expat community members.
The campaigns is part of IAB’s commitment to the local community that is held regularly.
IAB President Salimo welcomed High Commission officials, donors and the medical team from Suri Seri Begawan Hospital in Kuala Belait.
Meanwhile, Chargé d’Affaires of the High Commission of India in Brunei Darussalam Alok Verma encouraged the community to donate blood at regular intervals as the act is considered one of the best ways of helping mankind.
