    4 RBAF officers to join peacekeeping mission

    Brunei Darussalam will deploy four officers from the Royal Brunei Armed Forces (RBAF) as members of the Independent Decommissioning Body Verification, Monitoring and Assistance Team (IDB VMAT 5/2023) in Mindanao, the Philippines, following a flag handover ceremony at Bolkiah Garrison yesterday.

    RBAF Commander Major General Dato Paduka Seri Haji Muhammad Haszaimi bin Bol Hassan handed over the Brunei national flag to Commander Md Zouhdy bin Haji Abdul Razak, RBN, who is the head of delegation of the IDB VMAT 5/2023.

    Brunei Darussalam will continue to render support in ensuring regional peace and stability by participating in missions to oversee the ceasefire agreement between the Philippines government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) as well as the process of decommissioning of the forces and weapons of the MILF.
