Thirty-nine participants of the Brunei Darussalam Civic Programme organised by the Information Department, received certificates during a closing ceremony at the agency’s premises yesterday.
Acting Director of Information Department Siti Bismi Nuruliman binti Awang Haji Emzah as the guest of honour presented certificates to the participants.
The ceremony was also attended by senior officers of the Islamic Studies Department at the Ministry of Religious Affairs; Department of Scholarship Management at the Ministry of Education; and the Information Department at the Prime Minister’s Office.
Muhamad Syahmi bin Muhammad Yussof represented the participants in a speech where he said the five-day course helped them understand the importance of government agencies in delivering best services to the people in the Sultanate.
During the programme, the participants visited Lapau building, Department of the Adat Istiadat Negara, the National Service Programme (PKBN) Training Camp and the Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces.
According to the Information Department, the programme aims to prepare participants for difficult challenges in the future by moulding them into visionary, highly-skilled and independent individuals. – Rokiah Mahmud
