Thirty-eight individuals who completed the sepak takraw basic coaching course, received certificates at a ceremony at Sungai Kebun Sport Complex yesterday.
Director of Youth and Sports Umi Kalthum binti Haji Abdul Karim handed the certificates to the participants. The course was organised by the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports with cooperation from the Brunei Darussalam Sepak Takraw Association (PESTABARU).
The participants comprised coaches, managers of teams, currently competing in the TAIB Open Sepak Takraw Super League 2023 as well as PESTABARU members.
The course is also a programme held under the TAIB Open Sepak Takraw Super League 2023 that kicked off on October 15. It continues until November 19.
The course was facilitated by national sepak takraw coach Abdul Talib bin Ahmad. The course aims to contribute to the Long-Term-Athlete Development Training Scheme in preparation for regional and international competition as well as produce potential coaches. – James Kon
