A total of 36 pints of blood were collected in a campaign organised by the Thai Embassy in Brunei Darussalam at the Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Saleha (RIPAS) Hospital’s Blood Donation Centre.
Thai Ambassador to Brunei Darussalam Boosara Kanchanalai and the Thai community in the Sultanate as well as the public participated in the blood donation drive.
The envoy said the event was held in conjunction with the birthday celebration of Queen of Thailand Suthia Bajrasudhabimalalakshana tomorrow.
Long-time local donor Haji Abdullah bin Haji Muncit told the Bulletin he has donated blood 201 times since 1971.
He said the charitable act has helped him to stay fit and healthy and hopes that his story will encourage others to be part of the drive to ensure a sufficient supplies at the bank.
