    36 hours, no breaks

UPI – A group of four pickleball enthusiasts, known as The Pickle Breakers, played for 36 straight hours in an effort to break the Guinness World Record for the longest pickleball marathon.

The team – Chong Kim, Jaret Petras, Laura Maala, and Geneva Olson – took on the challenge at Pickler Universe in Carrollton, Texas, beginning their attempt at 6am on Saturday. They wrapped up after 36 grueling hours on the court.

Their feat surpasses the current official record of 34 hours, five minutes and 55 seconds, set in Britain in September 2024.

The new attempt is now under review by Guinness World Records.

“They’re tired. It’s been a long night,” said Mark Olson, Geneva’s husband, speaking to KWTX-TV.

The marathon wasn’t just about breaking records – it also raised more than USD18,000 for Taylor’s Gift Foundation, a charity that supports organ donation and families of donors.

Mark shared that the cause is deeply personal to his wife and that she also wanted to inspire their four daughters.

“She wants to show our daughters that if you set your mind to something, you can make it happen,” he said.
