300 to join National Business Conference

The National Business Conference 2023 will take place on February 2 at the International Convention Centre, Berakas.

The conference will bring together 300 delegates to discuss various topics under the theme ‘Beyond Recovery: Achieving a Sustainable and Digital Future’.

The conference is hosted by the ASEAN and APEC Business Advisory Councils of Brunei Darussalam in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Economy to explore how the public and private sector can work together to achieve a sustainable digital economy and work towards achieving Brunei Vision 2035.

AMRO, a regional macroeconomic surveillance organisation, noted in its recent report on the Sultanate that the high vaccination rate has enabled fuller economic re-opening, and the country benefits from higher global energy prices.

The report also highlighted uncertainties and concerns about global economic prospects.

Minister at the Prime Minister’s Office and Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew bin Abdullah will deliver a keynote address on the Brunei economic outlook followed by a panel discussion.

The conference will also feature a keynote address from Minister of Transport and Infocommunications Pengiran Dato Seri Setia Shamhary bin Pengiran Dato Paduka Haji Mustapha focussing on Brunei’s journey to be a Smart Nation followed with a panel discussion.

The National Business Conference will feature three overseas speakers, sharing their insights and expertise. They are Secretary General of Pacific Economic Cooperation Council (PECC) Eduardo Pedrosa; award winning Femi Owolade-Coombes; and Nusantara Capital City Authority Chairman Bambang Susantono.
