29 complete inaugural disaster resilience programme

Some 29 participants who completed a two-day inaugural community leader programme, received certificates in a ceremony at the CAE Brunei Multi-Purpose Learning Centre (MPTC) auditorium yesterday.

National Disaster Management Centre (NDMC) Director Colonel (Rtd) Muhd Harrith Rashidi bin Haji Muhd Jamin presented certificates at the ceremony organised by the NDMC.

Mohammad Aiman bin Haji Ali from Temburong District, representing the participants, said the benefit of the two-day programme included the exchange of ideas and experience.

He urged the involvement of community leaders and grassroots leaders to assist the authorities in disaster management to build a disaster-resilient community.

Programme facilitators also received certificates of appreciation from the guest of honour.

The community leader programme is a new initiative organised by the NDMC to strengthen the capabilities of community leader in reduction of disaster risk towards building a disaster-resilient community. – James Kon
