27 to compete in Al-Quran reading contest semi-finals

The Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports (MCYS) through the Youth and Sports Department (JBS) held a presentation of certificates for preliminary and semi-finals of the National Al-Quran Reading Competition for Youth for 1443Hijrah/2022 at the Youth Centre in the capital yesterday.

Permanent Secretary (Administration, Finance and Estate) at the MCYS Pengiran Mohd Amirrizal bin Pengiran Haji Mahmud was present.

A total of 61 participants comprising 44 qari and 17 qariah competed in the preliminary round, held on May 11, 12 and 14.

Twenty qari and seven qariahs will compete in the semi-final.

Four qari and five qariah including defending champion of the National Al-Quran Reading Competition for Youth for 1442 Hijrah/2021 will be selected to compete in the final round that will be held on June 9 at the Theater Hall of the National Archive Building.
