The first round of the 26th Baiduri Masters ended with Bryan Chiew Chun Hao as the early frontrunner, parring the course for 72 at the Pantai Mentiri Golf Club (PMGC) yesterday.
Three strokes behind in second place was multiple Baiduri Masters champion Seruji bin Haji Setia, with Pengiran Noorhan bin Pengiran Haji Mohd Tahir rounding off the top three places at 83.
In fourth and fifth places were Adanani Engin and Suwardy bin Haji Ahmadin, both scoring a respectable 87, with Ahmad Elghazy in sixth one stroke over.
Rounding off the top 12 were Fauzi bin Haji Timbang (88), Kho Eng Cheong (89), Haji Mohd Nazri bin Haji Satri (89), Asulham Rane Mohd Asrane (92), Ismail bin Haji Mohammad (95) and Pengiran Haji Md Zamreen bin Pengiran Haji Mahalee (96). Golfers can compete across four categories: Men’s Open, Senior, Ladies Open and Junior (age 13-18). Proceeds from the tournament will go to five charitable organisations: the Child Development Centre, the Centre for Children with Special Needs, the Paraplegic and Physically Handicapped Association, the National Association for the Hearing-Impaired and Learning Ladders Society. Participants are vying for the Challenge Trophy and the coveted Green Jacket.
The hole-in-one prizes include a BMW 520i on hole 16, MINI One on hole 9 or BND30,000 on holes 7 and 13.
