Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organisation for Vocational and Technical Education and Training’s (SEAMEO Voctech) Greening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) programme concluded with a closing ceremony at its premises yesterday.

Some 26 participants from SEAMEO VOCTECH, Universiti Brunei Darussalam, Univesiti Islam Sultan Sharif Ali (UNISSA), Institute of Brunei Technical Education (IBTE), Micronet International College, and Politeknik Brunei received certificates for completing the in-country training programme.

The programme signified a pivotal milestone in equipping TVET institutions with the tools and knowledge needed to champion sustainability, positioning them at the forefront of the global green movement.

The training, from September 10 until yesterday, was facilitated by associate professor Dr Margarita Pavlova, who is also a renowned expert in green education, with co-facilitation from Aysuhan Tuba Saral of the Education University of Hong Kong.

It aimed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of green policies, sustainability strategies for industries, eco-friendly business practices, and the role TVET plays in fostering sustainable development.
