252 new COVID-19 cases recorded

The Sultanate recorded 252 COVID-19 cases yesterday, of which 251 were local and one imported, bringing the number of active cases to 2,073.

The COVID-19 updates were released by the Ministry of Health (MoH) yesterday.

The tally of confirmed cases in the country now stands at 18,404.

The statement added, 51 cases have recovered, bringing the total number of recoveries to 16,229.

The bed occupancy rate at isolation centres nationwide is 29.9 per cent.

There are three cases in Category 4 requiring oxygen assistance and under close observation while there are no cases in Category 5 requiring artificial ventilation assistance and other medical treatment in the intensive care unit (ICU).

As of February 7, 94.9 per cent of the total population had received one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, 94.1 per cent with two doses, and 43.1 per cent had received the booster shots.

No violations were detected during the movement restriction from midnight to 4am yesterday.
