Some 240 volunteers actively rendering their services for projects and activities organised by Yayasan Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah (Yayasan) between 2021 and 2023 received certificates of appreciation during a ceremony at the Serambi Suluh Hall of Tarindak D’Seni yesterday.
Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Nazmi bin Haji Mohamad as member of the Yayasan Board of Directors and Chairman of Yayasan Aid Review Committee officiated the event.
The minister along with Deputy Minister of Religious Affairs Pengiran Dato Seri Paduka Haji Mohd Tashim bin Pengiran Haji Hassan as Deputy Chairman of the Yayasan Aid Review Committee and Permanent Secretary (Planning, Land Use and Environment) at the Ministry of Development Dr Nor Imtihan binti Haji Abdul Razak as Acting Managing Director of Yayasan presented the certificates.
The ceremony also saw speeches from the minister and a representative of the Yayasan volunteers, Md Nazib bin Lamat.
The Yayasan Volunteer Unit established on January 9, 2005, is a platform to allow those interested in volunteerism to step forward and render their services for welfare activities, particularly community services. – Lyna Mohamad
